Annapolis Cardiology Consultants will continue to see patients at their location on Anne Arundel Medical Center’s campus at 2002 Medical Parkway, Suite 310 in Annapolis.

Q: Where is Dr. Marco Mejia?

A: Dr. Marco Mejia retired from private practice in June, 2016. He established Annapolis Cardiology Consultants in 2004 and grew the practice to what it is today. We thank him for his years of service and look forward to continuing to care for his patients and this community.

Q: If I was a patient of Dr. Mejia, who will see me now?

A: Our hope is that you will continue to be a patient of Annapolis Cardiology Consultants. We can recommend a new cardiologist for you. In addition to Dr. Ingo Ender, Dr. Boaz Rosen and Dr. Sadia Shafi of Annapolis Cardiology Consultants, our new partnership with Anne Arundel Medical Group (AAMG) gives you access to doctors at our sister practice, AAMG Cardiology Specialists. The doctors available to you there are Dr. Jerry Segal, Dr. Jennifer Brady, Dr. Baran Kilical, Dr. Salvatore Lauria and Dr. Elizabeth Reineck.

Q: Why is the practice joining Anne Arundel Medical Group (AAMG)?

A: The partnership with AAMG ensures the doctors, nurses and staff of Annapolis Cardiology Consultants can provide you with the heart care services you depend on during this transition and into the future.

Annapolis Cardiology Consultants has been located on Anne Arundel Medical Center’s campus since it opened in 2004. Being a part of AAMG strengthens our partnership with the medical center. You will see the AAMG name on your bill, but you will still see your doctor and contact our office the same way you always have.

We know times of transition can be confusing, but we hope you will allow our doctors and staff to continue to earn your trust and loyalty.

Q: What is the benefit of this partnership for me?

A: AAMG, which is part of Anne Arundel Medical Center, is one of Maryland’s largest multi-specialty physician groups, serving patients in six counties. The benefit for you is soon you will be connected electronically through MyChart, which lets you view your medical records, check results, request an appointment or prescription, or email your doctor. This free service allows us to stay connected easily and conveniently.

You also now have access to the expertise of the doctors at our sister practice, AAMG Cardiology Specialists. The doctors at both practices will work together to ensure you continue to receive the best possible heart care.

We know your healthcare isn’t limited by the doors on our building. If you see another doctor within AAMG or you need care at the hospital, all your medical information will live seamlessly in MyChart. This means less duplication while providing you safe, high-quality and coordinated care.

Q: Is the practice merging with AAMG Cardiology Specialists?

A: Annapolis Cardiology Consultants will work in partnership with AAMG Cardiology Specialists. Sharing resources will help make this transition as smooth as possible for our patients.

For example, if you have an interventional procedure at Anne Arundel Medical Center, you will be seen in the cardiac catheterization lab by Dr. Elizabeth Reineck, a very skilled interventional cardiologist with AAMG Cardiology Specialists. Dr. Reineck’s help will allow us to provide uninterrupted care to our patients in light of Dr. Mejia’s retirement.

Q: Will you still accept my insurance?

A: The practice will accept most major insurances. We will notify you if there is a change that impacts your coverage.

Q: I would like to go to another practice now. How do I get my medical record?

A: The doctors, nurses and staff at Annapolis Cardiology Consultants will continue to provide the same quality heart care you have always recieved. It’s our hope that you will give us the opportunity to keep you as a valued patient.

If, however, you would prefer to get care elsewhere, you are free to do so. We are now affiliated with AAMG Cardiology Specialists, which is located at 888 Bestgate Road in Annapolis. We can electronically transfer your medical record to that practice, so the transition will be easy for you.

If you’re going to an office outside of AAMG, you may pick up a copy of your medical records at our office or you may ask us to transfer them directly to another office. For either of these options, we will need a signed authorization to transfer records. Please call the office so we can assist you with this process.

It has been our privilege to serve you, and we would of course welcome you back to our practice at any time in the future.
