Clinical Expertise

Board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist who has cared for patients in Annapolis since 2010. His focus is heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia, treated with both medical management and catheter-based and implanted-device procedures.

Completed his entire medical training at The George Washington University: undergraduate degree, medical school, internal medicine residency, and fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Before co-founding Annapolis Heart, he was co-director of the cardiac electrophysiology lab at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center and core teaching faculty for the George Washington University cardiac electrophysiology fellowship.

Procedures & Areas of Focus

  • Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Ablation

Catheter ablation to restore a normal heart rhythm in atrial fibrillation.

  • SVT & VT Ablation

Catheter ablation of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) — abnormally fast heart rhythms.

  • Pacemaker Implantation

Implanted pacemakers for slow heart rhythms (bradycardia) and heart block.

  • Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing

Conduction system pacing that activates the heart through its natural wiring for a more normal heartbeat.

  • Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD)

A defibrillator implanted to protect against dangerous ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac arrest.

  • Biventricular Pacing (CRT)

Cardiac resynchronization therapy that coordinates both ventricles in patients with heart failure.

  • Implantable Loop Recorder

A small under-the-skin heart monitor for unexplained fainting, palpitations or suspected atrial fibrillation.

  • Pacemaker & ICD Lead Extraction

Removal of pacemaker or defibrillator leads that are damaged, infected or no longer needed.

  • Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion

An implant that reduces stroke risk in atrial fibrillation for patients who cannot stay on blood thinners long term.

  • Cardioversion

A controlled electrical shock that resets the heart to a normal rhythm.

  • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

Detailed heart ultrasound taken from the esophagus, often before cardioversion or ablation.

  • General Cardiology

Consultative cardiology care alongside heart rhythm management.
